More of us are going online to find help for personal issues, but with billions of websites, it can be difficult to know what to search or where to look. The number one stop for many is Google, where results can sometimes be irrelevant or misleading.

This makes finding help extremely difficult. A Tech vs. Abuse research study found that for those facing domestic abuse Google searches can lead down 'rabbit holes', causing delays and worsening of personal situations.

On the other side of this issue, smaller charities or organisations that offer valuable support are struggling to be found online - if they cannot be found, they cannot help.

My Pickle aims to change this by making it easy to find help fast and to discover support that would not otherwise be found.

Other directory websites signposting support often focus on issue, location, or solutions only, typically direct users to partner organisations.

My Pickle takes a different approach.

At an individual level, people often help others facing crisis by suggesting useful support based on their own personal experiences. Replicating this scenario online provides the basis for the grassroots approach of the My Pickle website.

Mypickle.org crowdsources, reviews and signposts nationally available services. Listings can be searched, browsed, and filtered, narrowing results to match individual circumstances, for example, gender or cultural needs.

With no distracting ads or visitor tracking, My Pickle offers a safe and trusted platform for anyone in the UK to save time and stress when looking for help online.

Launched in April 2019, My Pickle is a not-for-profit initiative supported by a thriving UK volunteer network and was recently recognised as a "Top 25 Trailblazing Newcomer - NatWest's annual SE100 list", celebrating the best in social enterprises across the UK.
